Join us on our Bike From Bournemouth challenge!
Join us this Easter weekend (18th – 19th April) for a 120-mile ride from Bournemouth’s Vitality Stadium to Selhurst Park to watch Palace take on the Cherries, raise money for our transformative work, all while conquering a huge challenge!
Back in 2020, Palace fans took on our first ‘Bike To’ challenge – a 120-mile ride from Selhurst Park to the Vitality Stadium to watch Palace play Bournemouth away. Despite the game being postponed due to COVID, all 28 riders pressed on and completed the journey anyway –raising thousands in the process.
Four years later, with the pandemic behind us, we’re taking on the challenge again with a twist. This time, over Easter Weekend on the 18th and 19th of April, Palace fans will catch a coach to Bournemouth and cycle back to Selhurst Park to see Palace at home, with a hotel stop on the way. To register, head here.
Since our first ride to Bournemouth in 2020, riders have travelled to Southampton, Aston Villa and Wolverhampton Wanderers, seeing two Palace victories and raising over £130,000, all going towards our life-changing work in south London, focusing on three key areas:
- Keeping more young people away from knife crime, violence and anti-social behaviour
- Helping more young people find career & job opportunities
- Supporting more young people with their mental & physical health
Why Bike From and not Bike To?
Due to the way the fixtures have landed for Palace this year, the number of miles that’s feasible to take on and daylight hours at particular times of year, we decided to mix it up this year, with a ‘Bike From’ challenge.
Riders will set off by coach from Selhurst Park bright and early on Friday the 18th April, to the Vitality Stadium, and will make their way back to south London that same day – with an overnight stay on the way back to refresh –and will return to Selhurst Park on Saturday 19th, in time to freshen up in time for the 3pm kick off.
